Along with my passion of woodworking, my wife Kimberly and daughter Riley are the main reason I started my business. I started Modern Grain Accents in February of 2021, a year before Riley was born. I was doing side projects for friends, feature walls, trim, wainscoting - that sort of thing. Soon had more requests for work, decided to uproot myself from my current job and start a new career in woodworking. A family member on my wife's side has owned a woodworking business for over 30 years, where I worked part time while I was starting the business. I also come from a line of craftsman so I've always had an edge when it comes to building things. My Dad and his Dad were both artists and skilled craftsman and I was fortunate enough to recieve those genes. Before all this, I was an industrial electrician for 12 years. After taking an office position doing estimating, I realized I needed a change, and in one way or another it led me to my new passion.
